Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about colon hydrotherapy. Still have a question? Just give us a call — we're happy to help.

What benefits may I expect from colon hydrotherapy?
Clients often report more comfortable, regular bowel movements, reduced bloating, improved energy and a lighter feeling. By helping the colon eliminate waste efficiently it may also support your general wellbeing. Everybody is different, so results vary from person to person.
Will one session completely empty the colon?
No. Your colon is approximately as long as you are tall, so a series of sessions is usually recommended for a thorough cleanse. Your therapist will help design a personalised treatment plan to suit you.
What's the difference between a colonoscopy and colon hydrotherapy?
A colonoscopy is a medical procedure performed by a doctor to view inside the colon. Colon hydrotherapy is a wellness treatment that gently infuses purified, temperature-regulated water to hydrate the colon and support natural waste removal.
Will laxatives or an enema achieve the same results?
No. An enema only cleanses the lower rectal and sigmoid part of the colon, and repeated laxative use can irritate and weaken the bowel over time. Colon hydrotherapy works gently along more of the colon.
Is the procedure safe and sanitary?
Yes. Our council-licensed clinics use only single-use disposable supplies, and the treatment room and equipment are thoroughly cleaned after every session.
Is colon hydrotherapy painful?
It should not be painful. Some people experience mild cramping or pressure, which passes as the water is released. Your therapist guides you throughout to keep the session comfortable.
Is it embarrassing?
No. Your privacy and dignity always come first. You remain completely covered from the waist down throughout the entire session, in a private and relaxing room.
Do I need to prepare beforehand?
No special preparation is required, though avoiding food for about 2 hours prior and eating light meals helps. Reducing caffeine, alcohol, sugar and processed foods for a few days beforehand can also support the process.
What should I do after a session?
Rest for up to 30 minutes and enjoy the electrolytes and probiotics we provide. Eat light, easily digestible foods such as steamed vegetables, soups and broths, and avoid raw vegetables for around 24 hours.
